Menhub: BIMP - EAGA Maritime 2023 Dorong Kekuatan Logistik Empat Negara
Menteri Perhubungan (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi mengatakan acara Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP – EAGA) Maritime 2023 merupakan wujud kolaborasi di sektor maritim oleh empat negara untuk menjadi kekuatan logistik dunia.
”Mandat” dari empat action country harus berkolaborasi untuk meng-improve (meningkatkan) pelabuhan-pelabuhannya menjadi satu kesatuan tertentu yang akhirnya jadi kekuatan logistik dunia,” katanya dalam Pameran dan Conference BIMP – EAGA Martime 2023 di Jakarta, Rabu.
Budi Karya mengatakan keempat negara ASEAN yaitu Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Brunei Darussalam sesungguhnya amat beruntung di tengah pusaran logistik Eropa dan China yang besar. Posisi yang strategis itu perlu dimanfaatkan dengan kolaborasi dan program yang riil untuk meningkatkan daya saing, termasuk dengan mendorong Indonesia menjadi hub. Terlebih Indonesia memiliki banyak pelabuhan karena merupakan negara kepulauan.
”Saya pikir kolaborasi dengan internasional, kerja sama dengan port-port yang ada di Spanyol, China, itu bagus, karena barang-barang itu kalau sudah dikumpulkan di satu tempat di Eropa dan di China, dia akan menjadi satu respirokal dengan yang dimiliki Pelindo,” katanya.
Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP – EAGA) Maritime 2023 diselenggarakan PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) atau Pelindo pada 21-23 Februari 2023. BIMP – EAGA adalah salah satu sub-regional kewilayahan yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat perekonomian bangsa dan mengintegrasi kewilayahan di Timur ASEAN.
Akan ada enam sesi diskusi bermodelkan round table membahas soal peluang investasi Koridor Ekonomi BIMP – EAGA, elemen keberhasilan dan kepemimpinan, kolaborasi sub-regional, inovasi untuk infrastruktur Pelabuhan dan strategi transformasi. Selain itu, aka nada pameran dagang dari 40 perusahaan dan sponsor internasional dan lokal yang memamerkan produk, layanan, dan teknologi terbaru terkait pelabuhan dan transportasi untuk pelabuhan, pengiriman dan logistik.
